How ImpactKit can help you transform feedback into impact evidence

Evidence of impact doesn’t always come in the form of a formal evaluation. How many times have you received feedback after an event, or a thank you email from a library user? What about the results of a survey that your team ran or that feedback form on your main website?

You might be surprised at how much impact evidence your organisation already has. But this is often hidden away in event feedback forms, email inboxes, forgotten spreadsheets and other corners of your organisation.

With ImpactKit, we want to help bring this kind of feedback to the surface. And, better yet, turn that into a body of evidence for the value and impact of your work.

With this in mind, we’ve added new features to help identify and transform existing feedback from users into impact evidence.

From your inbox straight to the platform

A feature that we believe helps you save time and better organise your impact evidence is the ability to send feedback or impact stories straight from your email into the platform.

This is where the new team email comes in.

Each team is assigned their own unique email address to capture feedback or other types of evidence that arrives in your inbox. This means that you can simply forward these emails to your team’s email address and they are automatically recorded as a new user story in ImpactKit.

Once imported, the content of your email is turned into a draft impact story that you can edit and review before making it active and shareable.

And this helps identify and bring together all of those feedback emails and user stories that are hidden in individual inboxes across your organisation.

Bringing your existing stories in

But what about if you already have many impact stories stored in different places - in emails, spreadsheets or even on paper?

One of the features we’ve recently introduced is being able to effortlessly bulk import impact stories, feedback or testimonials from different sources. Instead of having to manually copy and paste this into ImpactKit, you can import all your impact evidence into one space in one go.

From the main story dashboard, team administrators can import feedback or other user impact statements from CSV. There’s a guide and template available to help you easily import your existing data.

This makes it straightforward to turn those survey results, feedback form submissions or other user testimonials into impact stories available in ImpactKit for your whole team.

Again, as with forwarded emails, imported feedback will be created as draft stories. This gives you a chance to review everything before you make them active and shareable. You can edit stories, add tags to see the impact areas more clearly, and/or link the stories to relevant projects.

As a result, your whole team can organise and manage your data from one place. And this  makes it much easier to see the insights and reveal what your users are telling you.

We’ve built the onboarding into the design in order to make the process straightforward and less onerous. During the import, you can follow the onscreen guide and use the template provided. So even if you’ve never done a bulk import before, there’s lots of help provided along the way.

And if you run into any issues getting existing feedback into the platform, we are happy to help you migrate data or answer any questions you have. Get in touch with us.
